REFUND POLICY

Last updated: November 2025

This Refund Policy describes how Steady Standards manages subscription billing, cancellations, and refund requests.

It should be read in conjunction with our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Security and Data Handling Policy.

PURPOSE

Steady Standards provides structured decision standards and governance infrastructure through a digital subscription model.

Because access is granted immediately upon activation, refund settings must reflect the nature of the service while remaining fair and proportionate.

This policy outlines how subscription payments, cancellations, and refund requests are handled in a practical and transparent manner.

SCOPE

This policy applies to:

  • The Steady Standards website
  • Core Reference subscriptions
  • Extended Governance subscriptions

All billing is conducted through our authorised payment providers. It does not apply to third-party products or services not operated or controlled by Steady Standards.

SUBSCRIPTION STRUCTURE

Steady Standards is offered on a recurring subscription basis.

Subscription options include:

  • Monthly billing
  • Annual billing (reflecting 15% pricing optimisation)

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle unless cancelled prior to renewal.
Access to the service is granted immediately upon successful payment.

NATURE OF ACCESS

Steady Standards provides digital access to structured standards, decision logic frameworks, governance controls, and associated materials.

No physical goods are supplied.

Because access to digital content and governance materials is made available immediately upon activation, refunds are generally not provided once access has been granted.

REFUND ELIGIBILITY

Refunds are not typically issued for:

  • Change of mind
  • Failure to use the service
  • Partial use of a subscription period
  • Organisational change in priorities or personnel

Refunds may be considered in limited circumstances, including:

  • Duplicate payment due to a system error
  • Accidental double subscription
  • Demonstrable technical failure preventing reasonable access to the service

Requests must be submitted within 7 days of the original transaction.

Each request is assessed on a case-by-case basis.

ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTIONS

Annual subscriptions offer a lower total price than monthly billing.

After the initial 7-day period following activation, annual subscriptions are non-refundable.

Cancellation prevents renewal at the end of the annual term but does not retroactively cancel the current subscription period.

CANCELLATION

  • Subscribers may cancel at any time through their account settings.
  • Monthly subscriptions remain active until the end of the current billing period.
  • Annual subscriptions remain active until the end of the annual term.
  • No pro-rata refunds are provided for unused time.

PAYMENT PROCESSING

Payments are processed through third-party payment platforms, including Shopify and its associated payment processors.

Steady Standards does not store full payment card details.

Payment disputes must first be raised with Steady Standards before initiating chargebacks, where possible.

CONSUMER LAW

Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights or remedies available under applicable consumer protection legislation, including the Australian Consumer Law.

Where statutory guarantees apply, those guarantees remain in effect.

LIMITATIONS

Steady Standards is designed for professional and organisational use.

Subscribers are responsible for reviewing publicly available information about the service before purchase to assess its suitability for their needs.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

This Refund Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in subscription structure, legal requirements, or operational practices.

The current version will always be available on the website.
